After Golden Gate, I made my way up to Mt. Evans.
The alpine flowers were in full bloom this trip, something I missed last year.
Summit Lake
And, while at Summit Lake I got to meet another of the neighbors:
The Yellow Bellied Marmot. These little guys are absolutely fearless. Mostly because so many of the visitors insist on feeding them even though it's incredibly bad for the little guys to be eating people food. Especially the kind of crap most people keep as munchies in their cars.
And, apparently I offended by not offering any Cheetos.
The Chicago lakes:
Named for the creek and only visible to people who drive to the summit from the overlook point near summit lake. I full intend to hike in to them later this year.
More of the alpine flowers, and the headwaters of Bear Creek.
