Its the whole "don't think about pink elephants" thing. You can't just tell someone to not think about something. I mean, duh. It's in the brain or it's not. I don't have any control over that baseline of bubbling constant thoughts, and neither does anyone else.

Hammy, I'm surprised, especially considering that you've diagnosed yourself with OCD, that you would suggest "just not thinking about something." Why would it work for sexual relationships if it doesn't work for anything else?

I don't expect him to control his thoughts and I don't believe anyone can even control their actions, ultimately, let alone their thoughts.

That wasn't the point. The point was thinking about the pink elephant is irrelevant.

And yeah, you can tell people to not think about something. That's different to telling them to control it... it's possible to make suggestions.

I know it won't actually stop them thinking about the elephant... but so what? The point is a penis is no more relevant than the elephant. It's got absolutely nothing to do with a person without a penis who you're already attracted to but recoiling and pretending not to be because you'd rather think about something else that has absolutely nothing to do with the person you're attracted to.

My point is being completely missed repeatedly.

You are talking about some sort of imaginary future. I assumed the question was about reality,  today.

See, you're an idiot. You don't even grasp basic thought experiments. The entire point is that those differences are irrelevant and if the reaction in one reality is bigoted then the reaction is this reality is bigoted for exactly the same reasons. In both cases the person is completely convinced the person is a woman, but when I make my point more vvid you grasp it but then you're like "that's a different reality" because you don't grasp thought experiments and your logic is terrible.

For Christ sake why do I ever bother fucking responding when your response is a response that only mentions something I've already predicted and addressed in the very response you're responding to?

I may as well just write one big post and then when I get responses quote parts of that post to show I've already answered everything. I waste a lot of my own time and energy and write a lot more original responses than I need to when I've already been fully comprehensive from the get go.

And why am I even wasting my time talking to CaptainAwful, the guy so awful at logic he couldn't follow logic if his life depended on it? I think I'll go do something or talk to someone more stimulating lol.
