The party of lincoln isn't long for this world, and they only have themselves to blame for it.
Part of me would love to see them finally examine themselves, and hopefully reform, and maybe move it back to the days when being a Republican was still at the very least morally defensible (which could mean anything from the days when Republicans were at least aware that openly flouting their racism was something they shouldn't do to the days of Teddy Roosevelt).
The rest of me knows the powers that be have no interest in bringing them closer to center.
Perhaps there might be a split, where the radicalized members and the less horrible ones form their own parties, probably leading to a long period of Democratic dominance like the last time the Republican Party split.
