The Bible states you can find God in His creation and that life is in the blood. Both are true.
What is human sacrifice symbolic of?
What is slavery symbolic of?
Christurds always wheel out this crap. #that is why the term "apologetics" turned up. They have to somehow apologise for the evil deity and his evil acts.
A great many cling to the notion that the NT somehow obviates the OT. Jebus himself said "no" and the old rules still apply. But they try to brush that under the carpet with tassles on the end.
The obvious question the faithful come up with is "god is all powerful" which we know it isn't. "god has a plan", which we know he doesn't. And "god loves us all" which we know he doesn't. And some how we are supposed to aspire to grovel at the feet of a thug.
Blow that, if and when I pop my clogs, there is no way I would grovel before such a scumbag even if he existed. I and most everyone here are morally superior to your raping, pillaging, wanton blood thirsty deity.
Would I kill innocents? Not on your nellie. But god says it is OK.
Would I rape my own daughter? Not remotely, but your god says it is OK.
Would I kill my son for picking up sticks on the wrong day? Not a chance of it.
All of these things are, to you, moral. Explain that.
Now it so happens that my eldest is transgender. Who accepts that and who does not? While I have been at pains to explain that she/he remains the same person regardless, the religious cast her/him as an evil demon possessed nightmare worthy of death.
This is the superstitious nonsense to which you are wedded.
And many of those who say the OT no longer applies still want the 10 commandments displayed everywhere and quote from Leviticus when they make comments opposing gay marriage.
Dying to live, living to die.
