Assault weapon = any black colored rifle that causes liberals to pee themselves.

There is actually an official military definition of "assault rifle", at least in the US:

"Assault rifles are short, compact, selective-fire weapons that fire a cartridge intermediate in power between submachinegun and rifle cartridges.  Assault rifles have mild recoil characteristics and, because of this, are capable of delivering effective full-automatic fire at ranges up to 300 meters. "

You think people who want to keep their guns wouldn't shoot at the people they thought were coming to take them away?

I can say with absolute certainty as a person who used to try and get people to shoot their guns at people..that this is among the least likely outcomes of a ban or confiscation attempt.  They would almost certainly seek to evade any such law or attempt by every other imaginable (and much easier) way to -avoid- shooting at people.

You do realize that "they" consists of of about 90 million very diverse people, not all of whom may be as intelligent and/or level-headed as yourself?

I wouldn't..because that would certainly end in my death and the confiscation of my guns from my cold dead hands.  They just wouldn't find any guns when they came knocking.  You shoot em in the back, when they're not looking, not in the front when they come a callin.
