"Defeating Trump is more important than all of us"

"Defeating Trump is more important than all of us"
The words of AOC

Quote:Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said she has concerns that people may not come together behind whoever is the eventual Democratic nominee and said the most important thing of all is to beat President Donald Trump at the election.

Ocasio-Cortez, a democratic socialist who has endorsed Sen. Bernie Sanders in the 2020 race, told Seth Meyers she will get behind former vice president Joe Biden, a moderate, if he becomes the nominee.

"I've said throughout this entire process that what is so important is that we ultimately unite behind who that Democratic nominee is," the New York Democrat said during her appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers Thursday evening.

"I think it's a two-way street. I've been concerned by some folks that say if Bernie's the nominee they won't support him and the other way around.

"Right now, November, you know, this is more important than all of us and we really need to make sure that we defeat Donald Trump at the polls assuming—and knowing—how insane it's going to get between now and then."

If Biden takes office, it isn't really solving the problem of money in politics, or healthcare. It's just kicking the can down the road. Vote blue, no matter who, is the defeatist attitude that's left the dem party being a center right party, and us having no left party.

Obviously some people disagree with me, but I just feel like there's only one right choice to make, and it's not Dementia Joe.

It's defeatism to not vote for the Dem and get Trump for another four years.

No, that's sticking to your guns, instead of settling for a lesser candidate.

Sticking to those guns led to Trump in the first place, because no one wanted Hilary.

We all wished it was Hilary now, though.

Hillary gave us Trump, in part.

Incorrect.

The Electoral College gave us Trump when the people wanted Hilary.

Learn your EC history. It wasn't the first time it happened, either. Remember that idiot named Bush? The EC decided on that, too, against the popular vote of the people.

The EC chose Trump, after the Hillary campaign did the pied piper strategy, and pumped him up bigly. It's not 100% her fault, but it partly is. Would she be better? Probably. But she wouldn't be good. If you vote blue no matter who, you'll never get who you want. You'll just keep getting who you dislike less.

Conservative apologist arguments? Ok. Guess I'm just the crazy conspiracy guy here, that thinks there was fuckery going on with the primary in 2016, just like there's fuckery going on now, and I just need to fall in line when the only candidate who actually cares about my vote doesn't get the nomination?
