Just because bread is "made" from other ingredients doesn't mean the bread itself doesn't exist.
The bread might come from water, yeast, and flour, but when it forms bread it has different properties and characteristics that the individual ingredients don't possess.
Matter has qualities that "non-matter" energy does not. Even though matter is "made" from energy, it is fundamentally different than energy.
