America is not bad, but it isn't squeaky clean either. It always depends on what event/policy or political era we are talking about. 

Women gaining the right to vote, ending segregation also happened in America. Defeating the Nazis was a good thing too. The greed of the market climate that lead to the Great Depression was bad, but FDR's new deal was good.

Hyperfocusing on a single issue will produce people who say "Amerika BAD!!!!" I know, I lived through the '60s.
