I see no reason to think that any portion of ourselves lives on after death.
It was Jehanne who defined the soul in that way.
It appears that by eliding the definitions of "mind" and "soul," he thinks he can prove that soul doesn't live on after death. And if the definitions are in fact identical, then he'd be right.
So far, though, he hasn't shown that they are identical, only asserted it. Which is why I say he's begging the question.

I have typed out my preferred definition of soul already.
Jehanne is the one saying that mind and soul are identical -- or at least he's arguing as if they are. As I already said, if they are identical then we don't need both terms.
