Night is the period of the day with no sun. That's the known meaning.
It's your who is making invalid conflations
Night is a period of darkness ON A PLANET or other body orbiting a star and all the dictionary definitions and the pictures clearly freaking shows .THERE IS NO NIGHT IN SPACE THE TERM IS MEANINGLESS IN SPACE. NIGHT ISN'T SIMPLY DARKNESS ANY MORE THEN SIMPLY LIGHT IN SPACE IS DAY . THERE IS A CONTEXT YOUR IGNORING !!!!
Not night .Night and day are meaningless in space.
DAY AND NIGHT in the only meaningful context !!!
ON A PLANET ORBITING A STAR
And i'm not alone in pointing this out
Quote:That's because there is no day or night in space.
Day and night occur due to the spinning of the earth on its axis, making the sun appear to “rise” over the horizon, thus starting the “daytime”.
Only planets / moons have horizons (ie: space does not have a horizon), so you have to be on a planet to experience day / night. Thus there is no “day” to experience when in space.
No. Day is when the sun lights the place, night is when the sun is not there.
Here on earth; we are floating aboard a planet in space, sungula. When our star is not there; then it is night.
No need for arrows and very large pictures which are nothing but -excuse me- gymnastics around the fact I just stated.
