But why do you, personally, not believe in God, despite (supposedly) being religious for much of your life?(September 8, 2021 at 1:37 pm)Ahriman Wrote: No, it's relevant. You said you rejected religion, and then, some time later, rejected the idea of God. For an atheist, rejecting religion will always lead to rejecting the idea of God. But it doesn't have to be that way.
Do you have short term memory issues? Go back and re-read you last few posts and then read my responses. You claimed that atheists were raised without religion, therefore they don't believe. I refuted that. Then you abruptly changed the subject and said you don't have to belong to a religion to believe in god. That's a completely and totally unconnected, irrelevant statement. It's called moving the goal posts. When someone successfully refutes your statement, you just move over a bit and change the argument. It's embarrassing.
Example:
Bill: Hey, Joe, those Giants don't have good quarterback. They're gonna stink this year!
Joe: They actually drafted a top QB from Alabama and he's looking good in practice.
Bill: I hear the Giants changed their uniforms. Who would want to watch them now?
