I had a Dewalt cordless drill just die on me - probably it was some "feature" like a "replace the damn brushes" sensor.  After tinkering with it and not being able to revive it, I just switched to my corded drill.

Recently I took my Makita jigsaw for service.  It cost a bit, but cheaper than buying another one, and now it purrs happily along once more.
