It's never occured to me to try to give a cat a pill the way you can do with dogs. That just seems physically impossible.
You're lucky that worked...cats are very good at detecting medication no matter how hard you try to hide it.

Not always true. My wife had a Cocka-Poo that could always tell when a foreign substance was in a treat. I'd say it's mostly the emotional behavior of the servants, tbh.
