Ghosts (Just read this)

RE: Ghosts (Just read this)
I'm not saying I believe in ghosts, but I certainly have no problem with the idea. Ghosts are anti-Bible so they're alright by me. Tongue

I regularly play at a bar that was built in 1888 and is supposedly haunted by the Madam that use to run the brothel on the second floor. It's a very large old building with a lot of creepy rooms and scary corridors.

I've played there so many times. I've heard stories of people being pinched; stories about glasses mysteriously falling of counter tops; stories of seeing people walk through doors when no one is there ... sounds of footsteps, blah blah blah ... on and on with the standard spook rhetoric.
I've been there at 2/3/4 am packing up my gear by myself. I've been in that building with only one other person more times than I can count. I've walked through the many rooms on the second floor in the middle of the night for fun.

You know what ... I haven't seen or felt jack shit!

I think people hear all the stories and just want to be a part of the fun. Everybody wants to be a little important so they make up a tiny white lie about the ghosty that breathed on their neck or some other ridiculous shit. I don't buy it and I won't until such time that something happens to me personally and there is no doubt in my mind of what I experienced. Until that day ... No Ghosts.

Quote:I came up with the conclusion that when a person dies, they still have energy in them, correct?

Yes and no.

The electro-chemical activity which produces the energy to keep the body alive has ceased.Any energy which remains is in the form of biological waste.IE the cadaver, that energy is released as the body is consumed by bacteria, moulds etc or when it is burned. What happens to the energy which is released through cremation?

There is no credible evidence that mind is separate from the body. That belief is called 'dualism'.

Bases on the evidence of which I'm aware, the mind is the dynamic of the living brain. The mind is an EFFECT,just like motion of a car is the EFFECT of turning fuel into energy.

People simply love to scare the shit out of themselves.

Ghosts may have planted the first seeds of later skepticisim in me. I think I was in maybe 4th grade when I encountered some children agitated over something they were seeing in our local abandoned house. The front door was open, and you could see a pitcher floating in mid-air!

The other kids were practically hysterical over it, but I thought it was awfully still for something that seemed to be hovering, and took a closer look. It turns out it was sitting on a shelf parallel to and the same color as a horizontal stripe on the wall behind it. It has been my experience ever since that the paranormal ceases being paranormal if you look at it closely enough.
