Hardly could Statler mimic the majesty of the independent evil of Sauron. He and Power are both but shriven mouths of Gollum, possessed and consumed to the exclusion all else by their "precious" bible.

Besides which the Mouth of Sauron's costume in the film was simply awesome. Far too good for Muppets.
