Indeed. It should be the cornerstone of any pan-movement.
Even for pan-islamic unions.

Such words ring also true for many islamists in Turkey.
However, few really know that their "islamic" Ottoman empire, was actually quite secular, whereas secularism does not just mean that no religion is favored upon the other, but that religion also does not dictate official policies of the government.

Ok, I like this video and it makes a lot of valid points. But, the issue here is the parents of children in America. My children have very limited TV access and what they do watch is commercial free. For this reason, they are not exposed to all of this insane marketing. But, even for parents that do allow their children to watch ads on TV, still, it's up to a parent to say NO and not purchase items just because a child asks for it.

What in the hell does this video have to do with ATHEISM or Secularism???? It has to do with poor parenting and overspending. And those qualities cross all religious backgrounds.

And did you just notice we celebrated Christmas? Billions of dollars were spent somehow, for some reason, in the name of Christmas. I don't know too many Atheists that went out and purchased an "atheist gift" for their family but Christians all over the world purchased "Christmas gifts." If anything, Christianity promotes this consumerism way more than Atheism.

Corpratism promotes the purchase of inane goods. Neither religion nor atheism nor secularism do. Corpratism attempts to invade all aspects of our lives, including belief. They want you to buy. Period. It doesn't matter to them "why" you buy.

Corporatism, as you wish to term it, proselytizes just as religion: Both are selling something. In the case of the former, you may get something you can use. In the case of religion, you get nothing.

Atheism isn't selling anything.

Sure it is. It's selling lack of religious conviction.

Ok I'll bite.

There were after all the buses.

But theism has much more advertising going for it does it not.

It has 100s of tv channels devoted to it for a start. Has atheism any tv channels devoted to it?

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

Tinkety Tonk and down with the Nazis.

That doesn't make any sense. How can you sell something that you lack. Can you sell me the lack of a car?

If anything, I think atheism sells a prompt to think. Religion is much more like corporatism, in that it hopes you will buy without thinking.
