How seculars are exploiting the youth

RE: How seculars are exploiting the youth
Religion doesn't care whether or not you think. Neither does atheism. Religions don't kick people out who buy into their faith for the wrong reasons (obviously, just look at all the oppression that has been suffered in the name of religion). Likewise atheism doesn't kick out idiots who lack belief in God who have given no thought to the matter. Both religion and atheis prompt thought in some, not all, it's not a requirement of either.

Yes atheism hasn't been around nearly as long as most other religions. That corpratism has invaded religions moreso than atheism is to be expected.

Aleialora: the "car" in the sense you are using it is merely a product. Religion wants to sell you a car. Atheism wants to sell you on not buying it. They are both selling something.

Actually, atheism has coexisted with religion for much of its (religion's) tenure. Science has helped it step out of the shadows without worrying about being killed by the dinosaur.

The truly intelligent, in my opinion, may buy the car or not. But they will buy it or not based on the influence of religion or atheism. They will buy it or not for their own reasons, not those peddled buy salesmen.
*Buy it or not *not* based on the influence... I forgot that extra "not" in my original response.
The idea has existed to be sure. But it wasn't allowed to breath until the advent of the scientific revolution. Atheists were relegated to basements and dark forests due to the power of the church.
Because it was confined to secrecy corporatism hasn't been as able to permeate it. IMO.

That's complete bullshit. People have been killed for thinking by religions. You shit on them when you say that.

Quote:Neither does atheism. Religions don't kick people out who buy into their faith for the wrong reasons (obviously, just look at all the oppression that has been suffered in the name of religion).

Is there a right reason to buy into something as silly as faith? I'm sure religions don't care what people's reasons are for buying their faith, and they're sure not going to kick out money in their collection plate. Tax free money, at that.

Quote:Likewise atheism doesn't kick out idiots who lack belief in God who have given no thought to the matter.

We have nothing of which to kick them out. Atheists who have given no thought to the matter aren't out trying to convert people to atheism. This entire argument is absurd. Take your time thinking up arguments in the future. We'll wait.

Inane waste of words.

Everyone is born an atheist. Atheism predates consciousness. The fact that you think religion is older than lack of religion tells me how extraordinarily unthinking, uneducated, and unreasonable you are. Then you attempt summation of your incredibly poorly thought out argument by saying that corporatism has invaded religion because it's had more time.

That's essentially saying that corporatism predates the disbelief in gods.

Keep watching the video and you will learn that Ronald Reagan was the president that took away the FTC's power to regulate marketing towards children. Interesting fact since as you all know Ronald Reagan is....a.... Christian.

Aleialora. It appears you are simply a fanboy of atheism. People like you are the reason I believe atheism is just as much of q religion as Christianity. Simply a nay-sayer. No thought or logic required. Just no God. It's funny how my posts are not attacking atheism at all... Yet you feel the intense need to defend it.

Amkerman, it is clear that you are a fanboy of overusing pet terms such as fanboy. God has fuck-all to do with logic, and your need to establish that it does is what makes reasonable people use-gasp-reason to tell you where to get off.

Used the term where I deem appropriate. I've used it thrice I think. Of course you feel God has fuck all to do with logic. You define God as a mythical guy on a cloud. your definition begs the question. Why are we getting so far off topic? Heather at least attempts an argument.

Heather: are you saying that the reason Reagan deregulated marketing was because he was Christian? Bold claim, do you have any evidence to support it?

The OP tried to suggest that secularism is exploiting the youth through marketing. That was about the stupidest claim we have seen here in awhile. Go back and read my previous reply and my main point was that the two have nothing to do with each other.

The additional Reagan comment was just to show the irony to the OP that a Christian set forth the youth marketing frenzy. I did not say that Reagan's Christianity caused him to vote against the FTC regulations.

I agree with you heather. I don't think secularism exploits our youth.
