I give you the same as I gave aeliealoura, a semblance of wit.

Question about meaning and perception of reality from a theist.
|
Here is a kids book to start you off
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Way-Science-Work...249&sr=1-5 All joking aside, I do recommend that you read some general physics books I have a copy of this one... Pretty easy to understand. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fundamentals-Phy...0471758019 Cunt
And I'll restart my alternative line of questioning:
Do you believe in reality? (I'm not asking whether or not reality exists, I am asking if you believe it does. can be answered in the affirmative, the negative, or that you don't know. All other answers are nonresponsive to the question) - I feel like you are so defensive even this seems like a loaded question to you. You think know where this is going, and you refuse to be taken there. It's cognitive dissonance. Do you dare give me an honest answer?
I'm wondering what you thought was witty. Were you just joking this whole time?

The definition of universal constant is not "exists outside of science's observation of it." Hm, I see what you mean, but let's try to look at it from another perspective. We've established that it is real because it exists. Things that exist, as you said earlier, are not dependent on our conscious perception of them, they simply exist. Now, the statement that consciousness is a universal constant is false in the sense that science has not labeled it as such. Science is dependent on human knowledge, thus it is limited. But, that is not to say science can not grow and eventually determine consciousness as a universal constant. For example, what happened before gravity? We saw things happen and we couldn't explain them, but science eventually matured and now we have gravity as a universal constant. I could see the same thing happening for consciousness. But perhaps I'm wrong, as is usually the case.
Brevity is the soul of wit.

Start by shoving your opinions up your ass, ignoring what your weasly whim tells you to accept or not, shutting the fuck up, and then go wall yourself up in a damp cellar for 30 years and reflect on what possible problems could be riddling each and every one of your assertions. When you've done that, you still wouldn't be qualified to venture any opinion we might care to listen. But at least you may be prepared to start receiving instructions from us. And . . . cognitive dissonance is holding two opposing beliefs at the same time. Even if I were just fibbing about my answers, it would not be cognitive dissonance. Christ, you need a dictionary. At any rate, no. I do not "believe" in reality. Please look up the term believe. (January 6, 2012 at 5:04 pm)Perhaps Wrote: I could see the same thing happening for consciousness. So you don't believe reality exists... OK we have finally gotten somewhere.
Do you believe in anything? You are right shell B; I mispoke. You are being intentionally dishonest with yourself to avoid suffering the effects of cognitive dissonance.
Oh, yes. I hold many beliefs. Most of them involve capabilities. For example, I believe that I can finish another novel this year. I don't know that for a fact. I could die before I get around to writing it, but I believe I can. I do not believe in reality. I know it to be there.
