Yeah. I've even considered trying to find something that works like the titular perfume in the climax and set it off in someplace like the Republican National Convention or a megachurch. I know that it won't be likely to involve the same ingredients: even I do distill the scent of twelve modestly attractive, unperfumed women like him, it'd probably only smell like movie night in a sorority. Of course, it appears that the Air Force has tried something similar and failed.

Rev:
The ethocentric dickhead said Judeo-Christian 'world view' which refers to culture, not belief, but I doubt that's what the fool meant.
The article is just another lame attempt to argue morality comes from the Judeo-Christian religions.

What exactly is that worldview?

No link yet, dear. I am letting it sit for a few more months before I go for draft two. Stephen King says you should do that and Stephen King is a millionaire.

It's completely possible to have evil people without religion interfering. I say this because, what is an evil person? An evil person, to us, is really just a woefully misguided person who has an agenda to push at any cost.
You can have that with or without religion.

What exactly is that worldview? From what I've been able to gather, it's supposed to boil down to there is good, there is evil, and God has sent someone to help defeat the evil.
Re-reading the piece, there's one thing that really struck me:
Quote:Whether or not they import stark biblical language or imagery, fictional worlds that involve moral absolutes and real evil are more interesting than those that don’t. Tolkien’s Middle Earth was mired in war. Why? Because Evil existed. And because it existed, the players were on one side or the other.
Well, I guess that someone's never read Watchmen, or the Brothers Karamazov, or, fuck it, any non-genre novel.

It sounds more like Zoroastrianism.
Besides, Judeo-Christian ideology does not involve an eternal struggle of Good and evil. Such a thing is not prevailant in any of the supposedly influenced works of literature and movies.

You know, you could always go directly to Mr. Duran's blog and talk with him about it instead of just eye rolling in the cool kids' section. He and I disagree on many things but he is always respectful and open to debate.

And why would I want to talk to him?
