Yes. Not only do they pretend it never happend, and get into a snit with any country that dares recognise it, but they also arrested a Nobel-winning Turkish author (Orhan Pamuk) for acknowledging it publicly (the charge: "insulting Turkishness")

I disagree with this law. Yes, it is stupid to deny something so obviously true. However, it is also stupid to make stupidity illegal.

I can't help but notice that the "Turks" are quite ready and will to stick the hands out for assistance and "free $$" (referring to the amount of "Asylum-seeking refugees" here in Australia over the decades.

There are innocent people everywhere. In my opinion, no large area should ever be completely annihilated unless it can be confirmed to contain only members of the opposing army, which is never the case. Wars always happen in someone's backyard.

Have you guys check this Article 301 of Turkish Penal Code? [Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Insulting_Turkishness] Not so much freedom of speech in Turkey, isn't there?


What's the point if Turks denied Armenian genocide? To less burden of their nationalism' blood-stained history? I think they should accept it as a genocide and never repeat it again, ever. I don't like the idea of repressing the people's freedom of speech as much as I loathe their stupidity.
