Equality sucks, equity is where it's at.

We address the relationship between equality and equity. We must have equality within our institutions to have equity in the outcomes of our participation.

On the contrary... equality is inherently unfair. To be equal is to state there are no differences. But it's not my gig, call it what you like: 'Twas just a suggestion.

Okay, your concept of equality is just not even within the same ball park as that which I'd like to think most of us are working with in our gay rights work regardless of which organization we are in. Equality doesn't mean that there are no differences, but rather that those differences are not misconstrued and stratified to arbitrarily create privilege and disadvantage which compromise everyone's pursuit of an equitable outcome in whatever they choose to do.

Logically sound definitions are 'rarely in the same ballpark' as the masses understanding of them... see 'transgendered' by students in highschool, or 'contraceptive' in Vatican City.

I could lecture about this, I should teach when I might provide insight.... but I won't. Should I? Probably. Could I? Absolutely. Will I? No.
