I agree, in essence the Cerberus network idea was pretty good, though I do see it a little as DRM (same with steam) but quite honestly I don't see any way to avoid that really.

No one says it is not relevant to the main game. BUT the fact is in THIS game THIS character will have hardly any (if at all) impact on the main story. Look at the previous DLC characters. You couldn't build relationships with them. They were just there. This will be exactly the same. How anyone can argue this is part of the finished game and any more than an add on is beyond me.

It was written in the storyline before launch, how else then part of the finished game could I interpret it?

The only gripe you have is that it is released the same day as the game comes out. I get that. But it's still DLC. I couldn't care less when it comes out.

You have proof of this? How do you know this was not always intended to be DLC? It's not Liara or Garrus we are talking about here.

No that's not it either, because there have been examples of DLC being in a game on launch before, but they were available for everyone that has bought the game for free regardless of which edition they bought.

This was already known through the leaked script of ME3 in November. You can read about that in the bioware forums if you like. The DLC was already released on MSN before on February 21st for a few hours, and retracted in an hour after they realized that was a mistake. It was therefore already available for certification pre-launch.
If we allow EA to do this to us, then there will come a time where we pay 60 dollars for a barebone launch title and then fork out another 25 to 40 dollars for Day One DLC that gives us content that's been withheld from the launch disk for no other reason than that we allowed it.
Publishers don't care for the people buying their games, they care for the wallets their money is coming from. If you do not believe that, you are fooling yourself and I mean that in the least offensive way I possibly could. We all fool ourselves every now and then, and sometimes we run into something we enjoy so much that we just want to pretend there's nothing wrong, but trust me EA's head honcho's and shareholders are laughing themselves all the way to the bank if we let them.

So it was always intended to be DLC yes? Your point?

I agree with you, publishers are only in it to make money. But in this scenario I honestly don't feel ripped off. You can buy ME3 for the bog standard price and get everything you expect in a top notch game. I'm paying that bit extra because I get additional content that expands on the experience.
Meh, I could care less. I suppose if people want to get annoyed and boycott it then be my guest. I'll still buy it. I consider people fools for passing up on such a great game, but they'll consider me a fool for giving the publishers my money. Doesn't matter to me.

We already resolved that a few posts back:
leo-rcc Wrote:If that is the case that makes it at least a bit more palpable, but it still is not winning any beauty awards. I still see this as setting a bad trend, and I hope Bioware looks long and hard at the way this is received. DLC is not a problem if done right, this was not done right.
Again MY PROBLEM IS NOT WITH DLC but the way this was handled.

I get that, but still you seem to argue that I am somehow in the wrong for pointing out that you have no problem with allowing main games to be stripped down for other customers only because you happen to be okay with paying the extra fees.

Because I don't think that this game is being 'stripped down' like you keep saying. The DLC we're talking about is additional content, on top of a completed game.
I don't mind paying for it because it's optional. I've said this before and I'll say it again, this DLC will not affect any of the major story elements, which is what ME is all about. Feel free to disagree but until you show me otherwise I ain't buying that this is a part of the main game somehow taken out and packaged as DLC.
