Davy Jones.
I found out that the lead singer of the Monkees died earlier today.

I just have to ask one question. Whose death do you give more of a shit about? Whitney Houston's or Davy Jones'?
Included are two of his most memorable performances, and an episode of Hey Arnold! he guest-starred in.

(P.S., any other Monkees fans: try to do check and see if Davy actually sang on one of the songs before you post videos of them)

No contest.

That isn't to say I'm remotely broken up over his death.

Me, too, pretty much. I love the kitsch of the Monkees and his episode of the Brady Bunch, but I really just wanted to see what the reaction would be. I can almost guarantee that he'll be remembered more fondly than Whitney Houston and won't get even a tenth of the media coverage she got.

I used to listen to the Monkees when I was younger.

More than I can say for the other one.

That's because he was a has-been by media standards instead of an overblown pop star with a drug habit.

And it's a damn shame, too. Here's a video of Whitney Houston singing "And I will Always Love You" at one of her last concerts:

She can't really sing for long periods of time, and pauses frequently.

Now contrast this with a video of one of Davy Jones' last performances of "Daydream Believer."

He may not necessarily sound like he did in 1968, but he's still capable of putting on a show.
