Can anyone help me?

Can anyone help me?
Help. I've got the partner 37 mydomainadvisor redirect virus!

No software I've downloaded has been able to find it and destroy it for me. I've been reading about it, and there are ways to do it manually, but the first step is always to find it's process in task manager, and stop it.

I can't find it.

If anyone knows what it is among all the other random.exe's, or knows of a program that will obliterate this raggedy bitch of a virus, please let me know. Any advice would be welcome, actually.

Thanks!

Could you restore your computer to an older setting?

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

Okay, I tried that. It would only let me go as far back as 2/26, and I know I've had this since the 23rd, at least. I have no way of knowing if it had any effect yet, because I never know when/if I am going to be redirected. We shall see, I suppose.

THIS NEVER WORKS.

Gods, what were you smoking when you heard that? Any virus writer worth their bits would infect System restore...

Here's how you can get help if you are unable to make heads and tails of the directions:

Take a screenshot (you hit the PRT SCR button) of the task manager (drag to make the manager as large as possible -- we're gonna need to see as many processes as possible) and go to Microsoft PAINT and hit paste (control V).

Paste your screenshot here.

With that, we can tell you what bastard to nuke.

Agreed...we need more info before we can make a good judgement.

Completely wiping the dir always works, but is most extreme. We may find an easy way if more info were present.

If you need to use the computer in the meantime, you might be able to do so through the guest account.

Ideally you should be using some form of anti-virus prior to infection. Prevention is always easier then removal. I would highly recommend Kapersky Internet Security for a paid AV, and Malwarebytes for a free one.

I had forgotten all about this thread. I did do a system restore, and I haven't had a single problem since. No redirects, no anything. Must've been a poor virus guy.

If I have any problems in the future, I will refer back here. Thanks!
