I'm stating that it's best for a child to be raised with both a father and a mother, in a proper family, and I really don't know what actually sounds wrong in my statement.
The problem with appealing to tradition is that (a) it's a (dangerous) fallacy, and (b) traditions change over time. What is seen as a "traditional" family by some today was certainly not a traditional family 100 years ago, or even 1,000 years ago.
By the way, has anyone read The Lottery by Shirley Jackson? A very powerful short story about the dangers of tradition.
