Unknown citizen has arrived

RE: Unknown citizen has arrived
Ah, nothing is serious, and if it is you can tell. Most people at AF.com are there for the kicks, instead of a big table we are at a party. Yet that party has private rooms for discussion. I have enjoyed my time there, but most of the newbies don't stay. I like to think if you join a forum, you want to find friends that are interested in the same things you are, joke around, have conversations, a few debates and enjoy yourself.

Thank who?

Smaller we may be but looking at that thread makes it clear that size isn't the same as quality ... I may be going off on the basis of too little info but, as things stand, I've no particular interest in looking elsewhere in your forum. Think of it like a group that gets slagged off by another and then members of that other want to join the slagged group .. would you really want them?

The fact remains you (personally) were critical of our group for no apparent reason and that you joined in with those who were "a little" (and then some) over the top ... if that's how you want to behave there then so be it but (fiery temper aside) I pride myself on being a bit above that and I think most others here do as well, to me that makes us (rules 'n all) the better forum .

As I said earlier it may all just be humour but if it is it's pointless, virtually all the postings show ignorance of internet conventions such as smileys, emoticons and the like which show when someone is supposedly posting humour and, TBBH, until I see some reason to think better of those from your forum I think I'll just remain a little bit cynical of your/their reasons for coming over.

Well ... you have the benefit of my doubt for now. I just hope Adrian's faith in you isn't misplaced.

Welcome anyway.

Geez, I make a comment on another forum about my first impression of this forum. I didn't even mean for you guys to see it. I said it seemed a little lame, and you guys are all offended. I am not responsible for what other people from a forum I happen to belong to say. I am American, should I be bashed for what Bush did or said? Anyway, I am not here to fight, truce?

I just don't see why you can't have that and also have a place where people can talk seriously about good subjects. We joke around, we often get into big debates (differing positions on socialism was a recent one), and yet we refrain from just going around trolling people because they don't have the same opinion as us.

If people weren't enjoying themselves here I'd shut the site down! Big Grin

I guess people need to find an environment that suits them. AF.com doesn't suit me very well, but hopefully these forums will suit you.

Well I personally wasn't offended, I just hoped your view of us changed Big Grin I don't want to fight either, I just want everyone to be happy, and if they have a complaint, to say something. We certainly don't want to be lame!

I never said you couldn't, conversations doesn't fall into that category? oops. We do have one on one discussions of which anyone who isn't one of the people in the debate cannot talk on that thread. Yet there is another thread set aside for comments on the debate. We also have a topic section that is monitored so if you don't want any jokes whatsoever you may put it in that.

Thats good, I didn't mean to offend anybody and make them mad. Some people are just a bit touchy I guess.

You see now this is why I never liked atheistforums.com:

Anyway, welcome to the forums Annabea, I hope you enjoy the civilized discussion we try to promote here between people of different beliefs. I certainly hope you change your initial view:

I see one member on AF.com posted:
"Struck me as where all the losers go, and this is where all the preps/jocks/cool kids hang out."

It's a good thing I would much rather be a loser than a jock, prep or a "cool kid"

Because "cool kids" spend their time smashing on people that actually have rules intelligent convos on internet forums Wink

I have. I just said what I thought.

And btw, if we are talking about ME personally - nothing can offend me that is said by anyone here online...

And also in my opinion this place is just the shit...
Sometimes I post over 70 posts in 24 hours...I've done 72 in under 24 only a day or two ago...(and then I get lots of replies too)

I haven't been posting here today though yet because my bro has been using my computer for college work...

I'm here now though TongueTongue Tongue

If I DON'T do 70+ posts it's normally cos I have no unread posts yet lol haha

I love it here Tongue Smile Big Grin
