Antitheism

RE: Antitheism
Dictionaries are powerless in the face of such dedicated opposition as human conversations. Smile
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Well that's not what the usual definition of theism in "anti-theism". Anti-theism and anti-religion are different.

I can agree with that, I am probably more anti-religious than anti-theist, so in many respect anti-theism is mildly inaccurate.

If you’re going to watch tele, you should watch Scooby Doo. That show was so cool because every time there’s a church with a ghoul, or a ghost in a school. They looked beneath the mask and what was inside?

How long have you been unencumbered by belief in god without coming across antitheism, or secular humanism?

I've never been familiar with those terms. I've heard of them but I've never had a need to find out what they mean. Although antitheist kind of speaks for itself.

RE: Antitheism
Perhaps not, since you wondered whether or not it had something to do with being "anti-people with beliefs".

But you had a need to join an atheist forum?

You are currently experiencing a lucky and very brief window of awareness, sandwiched in between two periods of timeless and utter nothingness. So why not make the most of it, and stop wasting your life away trying to convince other people that there is something else? The reality is obvious.

I wanted to meet likeminded people. People who don't believe in god but who don't hate those that do. But I ended up with you. You're the only friend I have here so I suppose I'll have to accept you as you are.

Daniel Dennet at Tufts U suggests that atheists adopt the term "brights". The feels this identifies non-theists with something positive as opposed to stating what one is against.
