RE: Post number 1
No he was aiming it broadly at all atheists who have answered this thread. He was saying to drich "they said no thanks", before then saying we are ignorant and don't want to learn.

You are currently experiencing a lucky and very brief window of awareness, sandwiched in between two periods of timeless and utter nothingness. So why not make the most of it, and stop wasting your life away trying to convince other people that there is something else? The reality is obvious.

I am interested in Christianity, but it's from a psychological standpoint. Mass madness is an interesting subject, indeed. I will be observing you like a lab rat, maybe sometimes I will even strategically provoke you to test your behavior. In doing this I might grasp a clearer understanding of your particular brand of madness. I hope you don't mind.

Yeah,I think we do;the arrogance of the introduction is a pretty strong hint.

I already went through this Pad. I responded that way because the original post he made was rather different. If I'm not mistaken it was several lines longer than what his OP is now and not as patronising. But he must of edited it just after read it and then other's were responding to a different introduction than I was :/

If you all believe in the same God then why is there no single denomination of Christianity?

Really good question!!

If God wanted a single denomination He would have given us a set of rules that regulated every aspect of our faith. along with an established hierarchy as He did with the Jews. Rather Jesus Gave us two commands. to love our Lord God with all of our Heart, Mind, Spirit and Strength, and the Second is like it. We are to love our neighbor as ourselves.

These are the defining guidelines of all of the law of the prophets. The Majority of the NT defines what Christianity is not. In fact if you want to, look at it this way. each book of the NT is written to a different church or denomination if you will. Because the Romans had issues the Hebrews did not and the Hebrews had issues the Galatians did not, and so on. So why were things done this way? The Short answer; so we did not fall into the trap of worshiping religion as the Pharisees did.

Remember God wants us to Love HIM with all of our being, not spend all of our efforts perfecting the method of worship. (Worshiping, worship)

That's not to say we haven't made a mess of this simple principle along the way. In the long run if one is true to scripture then that person will ultimatly see the freedom Christ gave the Chruch.
(March 18, 2012 at 6:43 pm)Loading Please Wait Wrote: How do I find God and fully repent for my sins? I'm having trouble and I need the help of a worthy Christian! Will you help me seek and clarify my understanding of the concept of Christianity?

How to find God: it is outlined in the first 1/2 of Luke 11

5 And He said to them, “Which of you shall have a friend, and go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves; 6 for a friend of mine has come to me on his journey, and I have nothing to set before him’; 7 and he will answer from within and say, ‘Do not trouble me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you’? 8 I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs.

Keep Asking, Seeking, Knocking
9 “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 11 If a son asks for bread[d] from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”

To repent means to turn. So basically all you need is to change your attitude, your desire or your want to sin.

Let me know what else i can do.

At best it was patronising, at worst deliberate trolling.

Why would I have any interest in christianity? Why would he think anyone on here would - this is an atheist forum.

Option 3 I am here to serve you as Christ served his flock.

Time will show my true intentions.

Who made god?

another Good question!
Being "made" or born denotes one's confinement to linear time. God is infinite this is one of His key attributes. The basic concept of infinity spans the boundaries of linear time.

In linear time everything has a beginning and an end. God does not because He is not bound to our understanding of time. This is what is meant by his proclamation of being the Alpha and the Omega. This literally means He started time and He will bring it to a close. If God was before there was time then God was the beginning of the beginning. There was nothing before except God.

I'm a good person without buying into all that bible bully bull. So isn't it safe to say that I don't need god? I don't want to go to heaven if all who're there are obedient drones who believed shit without evidence. So even if I continue to be good, and jesus overlooks my whole life of skeptical blasphemy, do you think I can opt for hell, or some alternative realm of eternity? What says your bible about that?

If that is so then what's up with the whole new testament? Is that optional or is it more of what God/Jesus/spirit-thingy want you to do? If God really wanted you to exercise free will to choose Him, you'd think He'd have you think for your self more than the books of the bible allow. It seems that your God only wants you to think good and hard about whether to choose Him or not and then stop thinking. Once you're on board with the program it seems like he just wants your praise and obedience, don't you think?

In fact, if you accept the idea of eternal life, then how can you put much value into this life? I mean as your after-life approaches infinity, the portion of your total life which you spent in your current body shrinks to insignificance approaching zero. Isn't that how you Christian's actually regard the importance of this life? Just get your ticket punched for heaven and then .. doesn't matter. Of course, you have to run through the tape so to speak to make sure you've passed all God's tests but really, screw this life, right?

By the way, it was damned generous of you to put your shingle out to answer our questions about Christianity. But why would anyone look for that here? I mean if I wanted to hear from Christians why wouldn't I just go on one of your forums so I can get a broader cross section of answers? Don't you guys all think that your interpretation is the only correct one? How can you possibly speak for the rest of them? For example, are you for or against getting baptized post mortem into the Mormon faith just in case? Have you and yours ever considered baptizing some Mormons over into regular Catholicism or Fundymentalism as pay-back just to see how they like it? Maybe it's time for a little pre-emptive doing-unto-them before they ship you off to Kolob.
