Power of prayer flunks an unusual test

Wasn't it god's will that it happened in the first place?

Honestly for a second there I thought you were joking, then I saw you were a Methodist. Isn't everything that happens God's will to begin with? (That would include worse things like the holocaust)

The other day Texas was hit by several tornadoes. Fortunately, no one was killed. Many homes were loss, and there were injuries, some serious however. Meanwhile, old friend were posting "Praise the Lord no one died! It's a miracle!" Never mind that several people had just lost everything but their lives, and that less than a year ago, states further east got hit worse, and over a hundred people died. Guess God cares more about Texans than people in Tennessee?

It's hard to believe that one human being could be as fucking stupid as you evidently are.

So, if someone was to sell you into the world of underground sex-slavery, you'd be thankful to God for not doing something worse?

Much as I might hate to join in the dogpiling:

Why did "God" need to intervene to prevent the situation from worsening? Couldn't it just as easily have not allowed the flooding to happen in the first place, or at the very least reduced it to something like a dribble? It would have 'saved' hundreds more lives that way.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Don't you get it!? God works in mysterious ways and should not be questioned!

RE: Power of prayer flunks an unusual test
Well here is the first issue I have with prayer. If everything happens by gods plan, then anything that was going to happen will happen reguardless. Do people really think they can curcumvent gods plan? Also god knows EVERYTHING you think or say b4 you think or say it... So that makes prayer an egotiscial doubledumb pointless exercise in mental masterbation.
Did I make a good point? thumbs up Smile I cant help it I'm a Kudos whore. P.S. Jesus is a MYTH.

We have a neurotic god that only accepts the credit for any perceived success but refuses to accept any of the blame for any disasters.
