Rayaan is retiring from the staff - please join us in wishing him well.
We're giving a few days for all the staff to respond in the staff area, then he'll be rejoining the ranks of the general membership. He's asked to be turned blue instead of the customary orange for aesthetic reasons.

Yeah I'll be retiring from the staff soon ... woohoo!
I have had my fill, and it's just time for me to be on my way. I've been considering this for a couple of months and now I feel that I'm ready to hand in my badge.
I also learned that it goes against my religion to do a job that will oftentimes involve acts of spying or snooping on other members.
"O you who believe! Avoid much suspicion, for suspicion in some cases is a sin. And do not spy nor backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? Nay, you would abhor it. And fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful." (Surah 49:12)
That's when started to grow more averse towards doing all these investigations on trolls, sock puppets, members, etc. I've gradually become disinterested in such efforts. And so now, since I don't wish to do any of that sneaky peeky stuff anymore, I figured that it would be better for me to just quit being an admin. Then I'll have more time to do things which are likely to have a more positive impact on myself.
I'll still be around and post sometimes (even if scarcely), but I just won't be moderating anymore. I don't have enough free time to moderate much anyway. But I'm sure that everything's gonna be fine without me ... so, it's all good.
It's been a nice experience working with the staff team here. I didn't imagine that I would get so much so much respect and warmth from atheists, but now I know.

That is why I will never respect that decision Rayaan. I respect you as another good human being, but I will never respect your excuse.

If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
