Saudi Arabian Witch Trial

Always? No . Often? Yes. That the poor woman was even arrested shows how primitive and barbaric is the society in which she lives.

Perhaps the court of justice (if you will excuse the expression) will show mercy and simply have her whipped and thrown in gaol for a few years. Fucking savages.Angry

PS in my country, technically,a person can still be arrested for 'pretending to tell the future. This is no longer occurs due to the obvious loophole:the prosecution has to prove the person was pretending and not simply entertaining or was insincere.

How about having your nose and ears chopped off and left for dead?
I'm sure that this woman won't die. Some Turk who worked in Saudi Arabia was arrested on the account of blasphemy there. His punishment was ruled out as death. Turkey successfully saved him from dying.
Yeah. And I'm sure they'll hang/decapitate this one for something that is hard to prove-like witchcraft.
Really, I sometimes really wonder, these fucks are nothing but a few scapegoats, presented to the public as meat to chew on.

Having your dick chopped off, followed by a red hot poker up the arse.

Being run over( lenghthways, feet first) by a tank.

Being stung by a blue ringed octopus.

I'm sure folks here can think of more-----

Yeah yeah, I know. But what really is new? Such a trial happens like every month, and each and every one of them are highly publicized by the media. It's like the Saudi Gov. just loves international attention.

Yeah? On at least two occasions since last October, SA beheaded people convicted of sorcery.

I have a hard time considering that anything other than barbaric.

Witchcraft is hard to prove? I think you meant impossible...doesn't exist, and yet they have a law against it, and people are executed for it. I don't think attention has anything to do with witchcraft laws and trials. Ignorance handles that from every angle. You know what really jumped out at me? That "specialized units" dealt with the issue. They have a sorcery squad? So what, amulets and talismans in place of bullet proof vests?

Honestly though the father should look on the bright side, at least the damned witch didn't make his penis shrivel or kill his goats. All she did was cast a spell on his worthless female offspring.

(on second thought : her value-in-goats may have decreased as a result of this..he probably has a legitimate case after all)
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Well, they didn't kill our guy, for something that is probably more severe than sorcery. Obviously, the international public isn't pushing hard enough, I guess.

The international public is frustratingly ineffective in many regards, isn't it.
