And that was the end of that.
I do appreciate that everyone's situation is different, but I think the simpler we makes situations such as this, the better.
Yes. The first actual piece of advise here. And it is a winner.

I agree with FNM. Personally, I think your letter is far too long. Not only do they not need such a complicated explanation... they probably do not want to hear it. If you feel it must be done by letter, I would edit it down. A lot.
Welcome, by the way!

Please don't go away actually thinking that we call our mum "babe". -_-'

I swear... every time I see 'coming out letter', my immediate thought is that someone is attracted to the same gender or that they are trans. And so often am I disappointed

I edited down your letter to read what I think it should say. (Obviously, you won't use it, but this is all you need.)

+1 - I agree that less is more and would consider trimming it down.
They will be initially relieved that you arent coming out as gay
Then they will be pissed your coming out as atheist
Then they will stop reading - The full explanation can wait until a later time, when they have taken it on board and are over the initial shock.
Good luck whatever you do

Very good observation.

It sort of all went to shit in the very next sentence didn't it?

It sort of all went to shit in the very next sentence didn't it? It may not be organized perfectly and do not actually think sending this letter to parents would be a good idea. They would be confused and devastated..., but I myself actually do not believe existence is or can be finite. Something cannot come from nothing since nothing does not exist. Existence is a given and therefore has always been and always will be.
Even if I did just tell them simply like most people here seem to think I should then my mom would probably still just keep telling herself that I did not really believe and I was in denial. My dad would be devastated. He still asks me to pray for him and such and I cannot take that away from him. Even now I still don't know if I actually can tell them. Thanks for all the advice by the way.

Oh right, fair enough - I didn't realise that "I know for sure that there is an eternal existence" was just to pacify your parents.
Good luck with your letter though, it does sound a difficult position to be in.
