$150,000 wasted on another futile attempt to destroy the separation of church and sta

$150,000 wasted on another futile attempt to destroy the separation of church and sta
In the end what is left is a lot of wasted effort and a bill for $150,000. I guess it will take a lot of bake sales to pay that bill. No wait, they will just cut something out of their budget for education to pay for that.

All of this was to fight a battle that they could never win.

I have studied the Bible and the theology behind Christianity for many years. I have been to many churches. I have walked the depth and the breadth of the religion and, as a result of this, I have a lot of bullshit to scrape off the bottom of my shoes. ~Ziploc Surprise

Aw, fuck 'em. They'd just give it away in payoffs to some corporate crook anyway.

Obviously such a thing is not the case here. But I can't say that they do not brag about what happens over there.
Ummah sympathisants and islamists come to me, and tell me that there are things that happen over there, and it's not seen as an act against the seperation of church and state. But obviously they do not know that it is, as a matter of fact seen as such by people who support secularism.
But just because it's the US, they believe that every person there is an adherent of secular thought. I guess ours are not really different from yours.

I think the assholes that personally made the decision to fight this thing should have to float the bill.

Good point. If I lived in Rhode Island I would not be happy about having to pay for someone's wasteful bullshit. BTW, Even when I was a Christian I understood the importance of separation of church and state. Christians who were for destroying the separation of church and state or (as they saw it) "restoring America to it's pre secular atheistic roots" were afraid to argue with me.

I have no fucking clue why christians try to force the idea that "america was based on christian values". Christ like values? Forcing everybody to be like christ? Seriously? Let's just change the country's slogan to: "MARTYR'S R US", and everybody will be stoked on what we really have to offer. >.<

It's so they can justify their actions.

The bullshit goes something like this: "America was founded as a Christian country". As support for this statement they mention the many groups of people who came here because they were running from religious persecution. They take the founding father's and "adjust" things to make them all Christians, preferably fundamentalist Christians. It's always amusing how they try to fit Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin into this mold. I've seen many different approaches to this. Then they cherry pick the founding documents and whatever early sources they can find to "prove" that the founding father's wanted this country to be a Christian country -a theocracy. With this "evidence" they can say that all the (cherry picked) negative events in today's news are caused because we have strayed from god. In fact some events, from earthquakes to a recession, are "proof" that god is judging us (though some say it's just a taste of the judgement to come). The solution then becomes clear, "return" to god and things will be hunkey dorey again. They cite the many passages in the Bible where Israel strayed from god, god punished them, Israel repented and god blessed Israel.

With this (very strong belief) they have no problem destroying separation of church and state and forcing the Bible and it's doctrine on everyone. Many of them honestly believe that it's the way to save America. They are on a crusade.

The biggest lie going. Xtian "values" gave us the divine right of kings....not "all men were created equal."

Ha! America- the land of the free? More like, America- the land of everybody being free EXCEPT: her, her, him, oh and that other guy too.
