Yeah but I would find that my child's happiness should be paramount. Even to success. I'm not saying success should be easy, or that they won't find it a struggle. But make sure they are pushing themselves for THEMSELVES and that they want to, not because you think it is what is best or right for them, even if it is. I haven't had kids myself so I guess I'm in a poor position to comment about parenting, but I do have parents. And at times they have put pressure on me. I also know plenty of people who feel pressured by their parents to be successful, so much so to the extent they are in constant fear of failure.
It's a balancing act I suppose
