It was a predictable response from him. Talking snakes are "real" and genetics is not.

You have to understand that Arch once told me that "if there is one error in the bible there is no hope for man." For that reason he clings to each word as if he were a hungry squirrel with the last acorn on earth. It's sad but his fairy tale belief system requires him to embrace ignorance with gusto.

I don't see why you would have a problem with accepting things with no evidence, anyway.

Well... it does happen. And when it does, they get reamed in peer review. Which is part of why the scientific peer review process is so important, and why peer-reviewed sources carry weight (*).

I can't wait for more Creationist reponses. Here's what I predict them to be:

"I don't understand the evidence, therefore it's wrong!"

"Gene duplication has been proven to be false!"

"Nobody has seen a monkey's brain evolve into a human's brain!"

"Evolution is just accidents and random chance. The human brain couldn't have happened by chance, therefore God did it!"

He can chew his biblical acorn in a hole in his crucifix all he wants, but he will be wacked if he then runs around and deposit his biblical excrement everywhere.

The only evidence that will convince him of evolution is a cat giving birth to a dog.

Do you really want to open up the peer review can of worms? it is not as holy as you make it out to be.

Genetics is actually a fascinating study BUT keep in mind, just because a secular evolutionary scientists says something can't be done doesn't mean it can't be done.

Quote:Nobody has seen a monkey's brain evolve into a human's brain!"

Secularists tout the scientific principle of 'observation' except when it applies to their favorite theories. Hypocrisy and a double standard is your downfall.

Quote:Evolution is just accidents and random chance. The human brain couldn't have happened by chance, therefore God did it!"

Well sometimes the only answer a believer hsa is 'Goddidit!' Believers do nto have perfect knowledge and need to study like anyone else to receive the correct answers.

Then, evolutionists can't explain myriads of changes in their supposed process and rely upon 'evolutiondidit!' so you are really criticizing yourselves.

Yes, as a matter of fact, I do. BTW, I don't recall stating that peer review was "holy". It's not perfect. Yes, bad research can be published - and when that happens, guess what processes discover the defects? Peer review and replication of results by other parties.

Do you have a better method to minimize the effects of personal bias and academic fraud, etc. other than opening up research for review by others with the necessary qualifications to critique it?

If you do, please, feel free to propose an alternative.

P.S. Can you give a coherent definition about what modern biological evolutionary theory actually claims? Because based on your posts, I think you have no idea.

Yeah, it's only given us every single scientific advance that we have had since the ~1800's. Completely useless.

Considering that religious claims can't be verified through peer review, I can see why you'd want to trash it.
Science flies us to the moon and stars. Religion flies us into buildings.

God allowed 200,000 people to die in an earthquake. So what makes you think he cares about YOUR problems?
