The pleasure factor is to serve as an incentive, obviously.
Still doesn't change the factor that your default sexuality should be the one you were born with. However, due to genetic or hormonal factors, some people seek this elsewhere.
They are obviously not normal, as they do not act according to their chromosomal association and prefer to engage in acts with people whom they should not be attracted towards.

Well, as homosexuals now identify themselves as a "minority", we must be the majority. I believe that the minority are entitled to the same fundamental rights as the majority, but as I've already stated, marriage, and having children is not just a right, it's a privilage, granted by the society and state.

Allowing homosexuality is a different thing, allowing it to soil the foundations of society and family is another.

Sorry, I just had to quote mine this.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

So allowing gay marriage is going to be disastrous? Because all these years it's been fine, but if we let them marry, it'll be the end of the world?

Homosexuality has been around as long as arseholes have; it's not going to start undermining society now when it hasn't since the dawn of human civilization. The Greeks and Romans allowed homosexuality, and the modern western world ( even Turkey to an extent - the Sultan did call himself Ceaser [Kayseri] after all ) is built on their foundations.

End of the world, I'd say not. But it certainly would destroy a pillar of society.
As I previously mentioned, Greeks and Romans were notorious pedarasts, and the Ottomans have adopted such ugly practices from the persians who were also notorious pedarasts, wheras it was grave offense in Turkish societies ever since from the Huns.

Drinking coffee was a death penalty offence in Turkey, no reason for us to stop drinking it.

I've given examples of my own culture since you've seen it fit to give examples from the days of Devlet-i Aliyye, the proper name of the Ottoman empire.
If you want to discuss the coffee ban, true, there was a time when the consumption of coffee in coffeehouses was forbidden. Coffee could still be brewn and drank at home. It was done with a purpose: coffeehouses were, as they are still, places of idleness and laxity. IV. Murad Khan saw it fit to abolish such houses, while also making alcohol illegal, according to Moslem standards, however he himself was a heavy drinker.

...and you don't see how that somewhat unenlightened approach to something simple like coffee could give us the impression that maybe your society isn't the one we want to draw up blueprints for ours to be based upon? I mean, seriously? You don't see the problem there?

No, because tis the same for your society also. Since when was homosexuality so cherished in your country? It still isn't, really. Your customs and traditions denounce it. But I guess it's this whole counter-culture movement and the false impression of individual independence it brings that makes you come up with new meanings for things.

It isn't, countries can't have an opinion but the people residing in them can. The majorities opinion can lead towards things like freewill, human rights, peace, love. These are the things we as human beings cherish. I don't care if someones gay or not, I just respect their right to pursue that life because it isn't hurting me and I wish the best for them. If the majority feels these things are important enough then customs and traditions can change because we can change them.
I'm very sorry the majority of your countries population and some of Americas population apparantly doesn't feel those things are important.
I do though.... I also like coffee.
