We're also giving thieves, murderers, traitors, provocators and other people the hard time they need.
No one is a unique snowflake here. Those who live in harmony with the normal majority deserve the right to respect, those who don't, deserve only the hard stick on their backs.
Now you're comparing murderers, traitors and the like to homosexuals. DO I really need to to tell you why they're different?
I'll give you a hint: it's because homosexuals aren't typically criminals.

Yes, it's a pain in the ass!
I'm either the only one who got it, or the only one who thought it was funny enough to give a thumbs up.
Either way. . .

These are simple sociological facts. You people live in a dream world. I don't. Neither would I want to.
In America, every human is guaranteed equal rights and a right to "pursuit of happiness". That means that, in this country, any tiny minority can try to change whatever they want. The majority can't use their large population as justification for evil in my country. Unlike in yours, it seems.
I don't live in a dream world. I fight for a world where humans are granted equal rights based on who they are as opposed to what genitalia they personally prefer.

Mehmet sounds like he wants everyone to have serial numbers instead of their names.

Well, if it's what the State wanted, I'm sure he'd be right behind it.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Cloning does raise very important issues; for example, if you have sex with yourself is it incest or masturbation?

On second thought I can't think of any. For some reason at one time I was thinking that it had raised some issues, although now I can't seem to think of any.
(edit: other than the fact that so little is known about it right now. Of course more research would need to be done before it could be considered a practical option)
It may just have been me thinking about the ethical issues of teleportation (the kind of teleportation where your body is essentially destroyed and recreated somewhere else)
So as of the moment i actually can't think of any significant ethical issues with cloning. If I do I'll get back to you.
