Atheists are miserable.

RE: Atheists are miserable.
Quote:Your quote horrifies me. No one should be fueled by hate.
Only our enemies should be afraid. And that is if they cross us.
As the Germans would say, "Haß und Vergeltung!".
Quote:I'm contributing FOR myself. Except for my family, then I'm raising good children with my lover so that they'll be happy.
What can you really "contribute" for yourself? You'll be dead in 70 years. Your contributions are needed elsewhere friend. Better focus there. Focus on your children, focus on your marriage.
Raise children that will be helpful to your country. That could be your ideal, your "red apple".
My red apple is the wellbeing of my people. The formation of the country that will lead them to this state of wellbeing. This will benefit me, and my children, and my grandchildren.
But my aim and goal are not "personal", meaning, they are not focused on my individual self, but on the public.
Quote:And I don't know how I'd feel about being remembered for the collective deeds of America, like Turkey, we have have some pretty horrible offenses in our history.
I remember no such offense that I have to be ashamed of. I only know of the grand victories and accomplishments that I am proud to this day.
Quote:And why is that a start? Why is that important?
It is important because your life is finite. You know where it's going to end up. At the mortuary slab. Then, in the grave, meters under the earth.
Any contributions you make to yourself are actually moot. So it's best to contribute to something that people other than yourself can benefit from.
Especially the next generations.

It might have horrified me too if only it is backed by any people who could ever get anything significant done in between bouts of hilariously strident and self-important bombasts.

Drunk or stoned as ever. Do not pay attention to this crustacean, Annik, he obviously steps over his boundaries sometimes, due to his ignorance, coupled with his mental instability.

You fight for an arbitrary border in the sand.

I can contribute to design because I love design. Therefore, I am making myself happy. I am being a good wife by equally participating in my relationship, communicating and bonding, making myself happy.

I'm going to focus on my career because that also makes me happy. I will be deep in my field before I take the risk of having children and I will continue my career as my husband and I raise them. I will work because it makes me happy and makes me money, which will help secure my family's fiances. My ideal is to be my own person and your gender roles make my roll my eyes.

Your nationalism blinds you. I hope starving the Armenians of their rightful reparations and keeping them away from their original capital and their holy mountain makes you feel good about being a bully. You should try reading some history books that are written by your fellow nationalists.

How so?

Personal happiness is important, however I think a person should look for something beyond personal boundaries.

Gender roles? Did I tell you to stay in the kitchen? I told you to raise children. I don't know what's so wrong with that one.

My nationalism blinds me, friend? On the other contrary, it opens my eyes to the truth of this world.
Ideals are ever aggressive. It's only a matter of time before they clash. Our ideals, and the ideals of the armenians have clashed in east Anatolia. We emerged victorious. Now we have set our eyes on a greater purpose.
As the losers, armenians have no capital, and no mountain in Anatolia. They do not even exist in my world.

That's a pathetic argument. If my life is finite, then the only thing important here is my life. All the contributions to all that other crap would no longer matter to me once I'm dead. Nothing will matter to me once I'm dead. So, after my end, all these other things are going to be as moot as the contributions to myself.

I can't even argue with you. You'd be willing to wholesale slaughter the lot of us if it mean your country would be "great". Yes, your country's borders are arbitrary. All borders are. It's like watching children bicker about which entering the other's side of the room. You care nothing for humanity unless they are Turkish. I don't doubt you even think the Armenians deserved to be killed off in their genocide (by the way, the word 'genocide' was made up to describe what happened to the Armenians). It's really a shame, but I'm not going to pound my face against a brick wall because you refuse to listen to reason.

So what you're telling me is, the Turks can come in and invade a region that isn't their own, commit genocide, and it's all just a "clash of ideals"? I guess you could say that if you define Armenia's ideals as surviving free of Turkish occupation, then yeah.

Also, that's not "Eastern Anatolia"; they're the Armenian Highlands. Get your geography correct.

And by the way, here's a slap of reality: you seem to be suffering under the delusion that the world trembles at the might of Turkey. As far as most Americans are concerned, Turkey is a country right next to gravy. Mmm, gravy.

That is not what she means, though. I know that such a country exists, and it borders our country. But it borders our country. She says that we "occupy" the country of the armenians.
This is something that you should not get involved in.

And if nothing matters to you when you're dead, why not die already, as you've said, friend?
Obviously, living 40 years, or 70 years won't matter anyways.
If nothing matters, taking a life would not be a taboo.
Sorry, but your indifference to any-and everything is just really revolting.
Contribute nothing, then. Just live out your life as nothing, and die as nothing.
Quote: You'd be willing to wholesale slaughter the lot of us if it mean your country would be "great".
I don't need your blood to create bricks, friend.
I can't really understand why you people always think that you're somewhat "relevant" to us. We don't even really think of you so much during out daily lives.
Quote: Yes, your country's borders are arbitrary. All borders are.
Yes, they could be. But instead of shrinking, they will be enlarged in the future. Turan, this is our ideal.
Quote: You care nothing for humanity unless they are Turkish.
Can you give me a good reason why I should?
Quote:I don't doubt you even think the Armenians deserved to be killed off in their genocide
If you want to get into this, maybe you should read my earlier posts in this forum.
I have no need for your blood, nor did my ancestors.
Obviously you must have caused trouble if they chose to throw you out.
Quote:It's really a shame, but I'm not going to pound my face against a brick wall because you refuse to listen to reason.
My reason is my own reason.
