I don't believe in Ghosts but I have seen one.

RE: I don't believe in Ghosts but I have seen one.
I suffer from sleep paralysis every week, at least twice each week. I had it last night in fact. The nightmares often loop, where I think I have awakened, only to find that I'm in another nightmare. Last night there was a little boy, who looked like my son but who I knew somehow wasn't. I was both on the bed unable to move, and approaching the little boy to find out who he was. Then came the entity. I told it I knew what it was and it showed its true self. It became the most horrific face in a completely black, swirling mass. It engulfed my entire field of vision and was accompanied by a whining sound which increased in volume and pitch as it drew closer. I was terrified but couldn't scream out, then I went into another loop with a different nightmare, but the little boy was there again. With me, there always seems to be one common element to the dreams, on a given night. However, that element changes with each new night of dreams. I should really see a doctor about it, but I've never actually got round to it. When I was a kid my mum sent me to the doctors about it, but all they pescribed was kiddie sleeping pills.

I recently discovered I have a mild form of narcolepsy. Sleep paralysis is the major symptom. However, my sleep paralysis experiences are nothing like most of the stories I hear. I do not hallucinate. For me, my mind awakens but my body doesn't. I feel extremely uncomfortable and it takes every ounce of my will to flip over on the other side of my body to get comfortable. Then I fall asleep again. It's not scary for me, rather very, very annoying and painful.

I've had a few really weird occurrences where I could swear I saw what was going on around me. In one incident, I fell asleep at a friend's house and remember "waking up" briefly and seeing him change his shirt. When I really woke up, he was still in the same shirt he had on when I fell asleep. I asked him if he changed his shirt and even named the color of the one I saw. After a bit of shock, he said that he in fact did change into that shirt briefly (I forgot the reason lol). I asked if he saw me wake up and he said no. I always brushed it off as him just missing the moment I woke up briefly.

Things like this have happened before though. I don't believe in the supernatural so I yea... Just weird stuff that remains unexplained.

As for the ghost thing, I used to be a super believer in ghosts. I still get the creeps in a dark bathroom with huge mirrors. To this day, I stick my hand in first to turn on the lights before I actually enter. I don't even believe in ghosts anymore haha. I find myself constantly thinking, "Your mind is playing tricks on you... you don't believe in ghosts..." in these situations.

Darn brain sometimes...

I'm not here to derail this thread again, but I would just like to say that it seems Phil most likely is close to someone who has some form of mental illness and is a soft spot for him.

I didn't know we were close or that you had a mental illness.

The title makes no sense. Its like someone saying "I've never met a hooker but I have fucked one."
I get what you mean, just struck me as an odd way to put it.

How did I in any way allude that I was talking about myself? Don't be silly now, Phillip.
