A One In An infinity Chance That God Exists. What Do You Guys Think?

RE: A One In An infinity Chance That God Exists. What Do You Guys Think?
I've actually written a thread similar to this one titled 'Deism for non-believers'.

With your argument, it is impossible that a 'plausible god' could be a mole or giraffe etc because those things are a part of this universe. They existed after creation, and if god is meant to be unfathomable then there's no way it would have left... his...... image... on earth..! Hmm, I just had a revelation!

Does God have an appendix?

Why? I don't actually care about probabilities. A probability of 1 is not proof, neither is a probability of say 1 in 100 million proof of a negative.

A claim can either be proved or it cannot. If not I am unable to accept any truth claim.

You have not yet earned the privilege of self promotion.
You cannot prove that god does not exist. Even Richard Dawkins says he believes in god as much as he believes in fairies in the grass

When we think of what defines reality, what constitutes it, we realize the reality is SIMPLE as opposed to complex (i'm talking about the essence of existence).

If something existed before everything else, whatever that would be, it would define existence.

That existence would be independant life. Now it would be powerful, but it would be simple. Yet it would have to be conscious to jump start the universe, and incredibly intelligent.

This existence can only be spiritual and of a transendent type. Therefore this rules out complex objects as Creator.
You've only ruled out the Deist counterargument to my original argument. Thank you.

I never said that the alternative to a unfathomable god has to be unfathomable, also the mole, etc could have properties, etc in it that could be unfathomable. Therefore, a mole, etc is not an image of god

You do realise that we don't have to prove that god, gods, or deities of equal distinction don't exist, right? My favourite analogy regarding burden of proof and who has it is to consider yourself standing in the dock and charged with a crime which you know you did not commit. But can you prove it? Now consider why you shouldn't need to.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

The instant I saw that you dissed the bible for talking about homosexuality I stopped thinking

Interesting admission, however thank you for sharing. Want to have a stab at addressing my question now?

I don't have to prove anything. I make no claims, asserting only I do not believe in God(s) due to a lack of credible evidence. The burden of proof rests with the person making the claim, not with me to disprove anything.

I don't understand what you mean. Are you suggesting I,or anyone else 'should' respect the bible and that it's not OK to ridicule the Bible for its homophobia? If so, I'll be thrilled to learn your reasoning. Thinking

First, I'm an atheist. If you're saying you know for a hundred percent that god doesn't exist. I'd like to hear it, but I doubt any of you will even try. I'm trying to say like Richard Dawkins that "I believe in god as much as I believe in fairies in the grass", and I'm showing you why.
He doesn't say that the bible talks about homophobia. He says that the bible talks about homosexuality, implying that there's something wrong with homosexuals

I don't believe anyone here said anything like that; certainly not me. I suggest you read the replies again. I'd be quite interested, in fact, to see where you might have got this impression.

Also, the discussions re: homosexuality have said nothing to disagree with Richard Dawkins, at least from my own perspective. I "dissed" the bible just as I would anyone or anything with a bigoted agenda against any human expression or condition, not just same-sex couples. Holy books don't get a free pass simply because people like to pretend they're holy - just take a look at what Professor Dawkins has to say on that score.

Perhaps you'll settle down here in time but just at the moment your rather combative attitude isn't winning you many friends I'm afraid.
