The Country Game

This is something that will get us to learn facts about the countries of the world.

The rules are very simple:

Just a write a sentence (or sentences) - which may be either an opinion or a fact - about a country that comes after the country mentioned in the post above you in an alphabetic wise. For example, I will write something about Afghanistan because that is the first country according to the alphabetical order, and then, the next poster will write something about Albania because that is the country that comes next. If there is a country which you don't know anything about, then google it, or you can also look at the link below:

Here is the first one (for Afghanistan):

The national sport of Afghanistan is called "Buzkashi" ("goat grabbing"). It is a game where skilled horseback riders called "Chapandaz" are supposed to grab a headless goat placed on the ground, carry it around a flag or a marker at one end of the field, and then drop the carcass into a circle to score a point. The contestants will also carry a whip oftentimes to fend off the opposing horses and riders.

Albania

Albania is situated on the eastern shore of the Adriatic Sea, with Montenegro and Serbia to the north, Macedonia to the east, and Greece to the south. Slightly larger than Maryland, Albania is composed of two major regions: a mountainous highland region (north, east, and south) constituting 70% of the land area, and a western coastal lowland region that contains nearly all of the country's agricultural land and is the most densely populated part of Albania.

Algeria

Angola

Angola has many natural resources, such as oil, diamonds, and some arable land (most of which was replaced with land mines during its civil war.) Its economy has grown in the past decade due to China investing its money in its natural resources.

Antigua and Barbuda

It's name means "Ancient and Bearded", possibly after the natives the first settlers encountered. It has the world's smallest armed forces, with 285 members, 200 of which form the 12-18 year old cadet corps. It's biggest ever military engagement was 14 soldiers sent to Grenada during Operation Urgent Fury.

Argentina is the world's largest Spanish-speaking country. After Spanish, the most prevalent language in Argentina is Italian, followed by German. Argentina is named after the Spanish word for "silver."
