To everyone: do you pay to visit the beach in your country?
July 19, 2015 at 5:44 pm
I know the question may seem ridiculous but I need to know whether you're being taxed for visiting the sea beach in your country. If you have ever visited Bulgarian beaches, you've probably encountered some fat and scary guy who collects money from people for entering the beach the same manner you're being taxed for parking spots.

No. I grew up in Florida. They're -charging- you for the privilege of risking a dirty syringe between your toes? Deplorable. What's the upshot, you get to swim in the water the fish screw in?

In Oregon USA not only do you not have to pay to use the beaches, they're all considered a public resource and the public has an easement to the high tide line and there are laws regarding public access.
You wouldn't want to swim without a dry suit, though.

Not in NC. Parking on the other hand is usually five bucks or more.

Here you can have the same experience but you have to pay for it - 5 euro this week, next week could be 10 euro, since no agency controls it. It all depends on the owner's mood.

I have been charged for access to some private beaches in Miami and Ft. Meyers.
I was with a lady friend both times, and we required some privacy.

I don't know of any pay beaches here in the UK, but I'd never pay for one here if there was. Beaches in the UK aren't worth paying for.
If I was in a popular tourist spot in another country and wanted privacy, sure I'd consider it if the price was fair. There's nothing worse than being on a beach in Spain where all you have is your little square metre of beach, surrounded by fat chavvy sunburnt Brits in every direction. I'm not here for that.

Sounds like Bosnian beaches are tons of "fun".
