Absolutely. Also the series wasn't as much of a soap opera then, either. Just like with Doctor Who, confusing interlocking story arcs were yet to appear.

I didn't like the orginal because the lack of continutiy. too many stand alone episodes. until the wrath of Kahn when they tied a couple epsiodes into the movie. Then i became a fan of the orginal!

Subsequently that is why i like Archer and warp 5 enterpise. It tries to tie up all of the loose ends that the orginal had.

Not to turn this into a sermon BUT; When people ask what it is we expect to do for an eternity in heaven, I point to star trek, and say we have an infinate amount of time, and an infinate universe to explore. IF we do get star ships to do it in I call dibs on the name "Enterprise" for mine

While I see the point of your analogy, it falls at the first fence since time and space are only apparently infinite relative to our average lifespan. Realistically, the Universe has a finite lifespan even if its ultimate fate is unclear. Not to ention that the Earth will have vaporised long before then.

Anyway if we get starships in heaven, I call the Millennium Falcon.
