I guess you don't read the papers much?

Do the papers say that religious charity groups don't give poor people hope? And for the record no, I don't read the paper that much anyway lol

Religious charity groups serve an ulterior purpose. Oh, sure...they'll give them a spoonful of soup....along with two spoonfuls of jesus or whatever particular brand of bullshit they are serving up in heaping quantities.

Of course. I won't assume they don't actually care about the charitable acts themselves, but that's only a part of it to them. The other part, as we all know, is converting more people to their particular religion. Which, like I said in my first post, I'm not in favor of because their religion hasn't been proven and contradicts many scientific facts that we have about the world today and is morally repugnant.

Rather than hope I would like to give the poor sods good education.. Tongue
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

My stance is simply that I lack religious belief. I am without belief in any god.

What religion does is tell people what to think and do. That if they be good little zombies they'll get their reward which is heaven. Which is really fucking convenient, you won't get your rewards till after you're long dead and by which time, you won't be able to return and tell others of the con, you won't exist anymore. Not to mention the threats of going to hell (another lie) to keep you in toe. It's all about control. The wise are not so easily fooled, which is no wonder they don't want you to know any better.

Religion makes a lot of money from followers, it's essentially a business and of course they're going to want to keep this business going so the money keeps coming in. The more gullible followers it has, the more money it gets. It has to be the worlds oldest and greatest scam ever made.
You have any idea how much religion makes?

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

Religion is a cruel false hope. Give "the poor" the tools to better themselves if they so choose.

RE: Atheism and hope
Idk
When i was in jail i prayed cuz i didn't know how I'd get out
Couldn't call parents for bail money cuz gone wouldn't go long distance
I had no one
I told them to run my card, my bail was 1700 I had 1000 in my bank
But the day I was in jail I got a 800$ reposited in my acountom college financial aid. It wasn't supposed to come tip another month but came the same say i was jailed

So I was freed.

Idk if it was god, y'all would say just coincidence like everything else

But I'm a spiritual agnostic.
