I joined one because I was bored and missed being a part of a forum. I tried to think of what kind of forum I wanted to join and suddenly, it hit me. Atheism!

Why did u join atheist forum?

I was actually looking for an article written by a friend, only to find that it had been posted here. I also frequented an um-moderated forum where I was worshiped, much like a God. I started hanging around here because I kind of miss being worshiped. I'm hoping that the natives here will eventually come to see how awesome I am, too.
Haha, worshiped. You're not talking about the forum in which I met you. There was only one god and god was only.
Why join?
Because when you're part of a minority and that minority is hated by nearly everyone, you go looking for those who would accept you. I don`t hate God! I can`t hate what isn`t there. I consider God an adult version of santa claus.He see`s you when you`re sleeping etc etc etc.You get the idea. Also,I don`t push my atheism on people.It`s a shame "christians" don`t extend the same courtesy. I do enjoy when christians tell me I am going to hell, I tell them "see you there". When they push the issue,Ask them to tell you in their own words why(not with scripture),usually they dont say much. Also ask them"Are you telling this to me or to yourself".

Because a few of them, or maybe some lurkers, may actually have their latent critical thinking skills activated and deconvert. I've seen it happen. I joined for an exchange of ideas, a few laughs and a few debates. You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence. |
