It is actually a quote by Sam Harris he gave as a reply to those who claim atheism has killed many more people than religions have. When Sam Harris was referring to communism, he was referring to the Marxist-Leninist and Maoist regimes.

I have to say: I have more respect for this guy than most creationists. At least he is honest about the evidence. He, unlike most creationists, will at least admit that the universe does appear old, even if he decides to choose blind faith over scientific evidence.
