How is the American Revolution taught in the UK?

How is the American Revolution taught in the UK?
Since today is July 4th, it made me think how the American Revolution is taught in schools in the UK. Of course, here in the states it's taught as the colonists rising up against tyranny. What do they teach in UK schools? Are the colonists considered traitors? I'm curious to know how this bit of history is taught on the other side.
Science flies us to the moon and stars. Religion flies us into buildings.

God allowed 200,000 people to die in an earthquake. So what makes you think he cares about YOUR problems?

Weren't taught anything about it. In fact the 4th of July is just another day. I forgot about the whole 4th of July celebrations. It really doesn't come to mind. No one mentions it.

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

I suppose my kids learn about the Gulf wars but they don't talk to me about school.

According to the English, they won. Teaching this doesn't cause any problems, provided the English don't travel abroad. Although, one year someone from England travelled to America and it caused a tear in the space-time continuum.

I think it would have escaped the English history books initially out of embarrassment, but now, all this time later, unless one is specifically investigating the origins of the U.S., it probably is not particularly important on a world scale. Much like 9/11. Huge deal here, eleven years on, not so much elsewhere anymore. Every country has events which are esoterically important, but that doesn't mean the world needs to care.

I suppose it makes sense that it isn't. Not because of the fact that they're somehow embarassed at the American Revolution, but because of the fact that there's clearly too much to go over in a single year. Several times I've had to take comprehensive classes in American History going over 500 years, and the first 250 of those were fairly uneventful, and we still never got past WW1.

For the record, Bernard Cromwell has written some books about the American Revolution from the British POV (Redcoat, and the Fort)
Comparing the Universal Oneness of All Life to Yo Mama since 2010.

They don't teach anything about it here. They mainly teach European History. For my GCSE History we had a module on the USA 1910-1930, but that was the only US history I ever learned.
