Love, that seems like an emotion. Aren't those for weak, pathetic anti-intellectuals who don't understand science?

I see this come up from time to time by the ignorant theists that come through here.

They see atheists as less than human incapable of the"human emotion known as love" and incidentaly think that because we lack faith in god we are bereft of morals.

Fuck them and their ill informed assumptions.

This Clive is an invitation for you to get whatever device you are typing your shit on and ram it up for arse....sideways.Devil

Oh, no, not at all. You're just as human as the rest of us. It's just that some guys on your team, in their rush to take the intellectual high ground, insist that Reason And Only Reason Shall Have Bearing On Our Actions And Choices.

I'm just poking fun at that.

You just decided to interpret what I said in the worst possible light--in fact, I don't even think you read it, since nowhere did I even suggest that atheists were incapable of love--and then started cursing at me.

Might want to check out that chip on your shoulder. Being an atheist isn't a license to be a douche.

I did read it and have read many similar posts from theists suggesting that we are automatons, devoid of emotion because we have not known god.
I have been told that i could not possibly love my family because I am an atheist, by a theistic fucker who appeared to mean it.
So excuse me for being a bit tetchy, but once bitten....

Yeah, well I've been told to my face and on this forum that being an atheist makes me worse at being a mathematician, that it means I can't reason, or that there's something wrong with my cognitive function. And math is pretty much the most interesting thing in the world to me, and it's both the thing I'm best at and the thing I want to be the best at. It's also my profession.

People can be assholes.

I get the feeling that is the exact opposite of what you wanted to say.Wink Shades

Yeah, ever since I got here I've been typing "atheist" way more than "theist". Fingers are getting confused....

On the assumption you aren't yet another shit and runner to grace the board, Ionovaryeh, three questions.

1. Why are you deliberately misspelling atheism?
2. Why are you redefining atheism as "non-theism" which is technically the same thing?
3. Why are you conflating theism with atheism?

Your fingers are catching onto reality faster than your head.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Clever. I always thought the only way I'd become an atheist would be to stop using my brain.

Sorry ...EPIC FAIL....what's your name again?? Welcome # 75

"Epic fail"? How old are you? I like that. And if you want to get so personal as knowing my name, what have you been through or seen that beseeches you to negate the idea of the existence of a higher spiritual /quantum entity against the fact that 90% of the world's population consists in some form of religion or spiritualism? In any case, do you understand anything about the nature of the spiritual realm? Or the existence of occult, and/or satanist groups that permeate world governments (otherwise known as Masons and Freemasons (as was George Washington))? Do you understand anything about voodoo, magick, or alchemy? What DO you understand, my "athiest" peer?

Three pointless questions...that could have gone better unasked. Could not be farther from the original intent of this post (or future posts). The information that you are focusing on is miniscule. As for mispelling, I'm sorry..really.
