Yeah, the author has their own take on things, but fuck that guy, what's yours?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Large scale GM* is the way to feed the most people. Large scale farming is more efficient, and GM is as well. With the same amount of space in total you get more food OR using less space you get the same amount of food. Not everything natural is good, not everything good is natural. Arbitrarily limiting yourself to only the natural would mean less efficient farming, which means less people fed, or more space is used for farms and more people have to farm.
*not the type where it's designed so that you only get one harvest out of it. RE: Top Ten Green Jobs.

Yeah, I can see that one making the list for sure. Where would you place it?

I think it is a pipe dream. As for the "greening" of our industries this has been going on and I would say that Urban planner should be at the top of the list as THE best job to go for, this would also include architects/designers and landscape architects. ALL rather small exclusive fields and so not contributing to the "billions of jobs". I HAVE found that it is not viable to do R&D as the incentives put forward by governments are not enough to sustain start-up companies here in Oz and the current "Big Mining Companies" bashing is having a rather unanticipated domino affect of the rest of industry. The grab for the Carbon Tax dollar is killing any entrepreneurship that might just fturn the whole economy around ...meh "The Universe is run by the complex interweaving of three elements: energy, matter, and enlightened self-interest."
