RE: Mars landing in about 2 hours
How does a brit put in a light bulb. we just hold it in the slot while the world revolves around us.

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

I don't understand this British stereotype... I would have thought that it was an English stereotype not British. Us Scots realise that we are too shit at everything to care what everyone in the world thinks. Tongue

When national stereotypes come into contact with the foreign and unusual, that's when you get the best potential for comedy. At a railway museum once, I saw one of those metal signs that they used to have in railway carriages informing patrons that "This carriage is fitted with the new Edison Electric Light. To operate, simply depress switch on wall. Do not attempt to light with match."
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

"Well hello alien creature, we come in peagaeragahsefaegasgahghaghasgahg"

They broadcasted on Xbox Live, was pretty awesome. Can't wait for the updates.
"In our youth, we lacked the maturity, the decency to create gods better than ourselves so that we might have something to aspire to. Instead we are left with a host of deities who were violent, narcissistic, vengeful bullies who reflected our own values. Our gods could have been anything we could imagine, and all we were capable of manifesting were gods who shared the worst of our natures."-Me

"Atheism leaves a man to sense, to philosophy, to natural piety, to laws, to reputation; all of which may be guides to an outward moral virtue, even if religion vanished; but religious superstition dismounts all these and erects an absolute monarchy in the minds of men." – Francis Bacon

Well........................

I'm impressed!
I never thought the over complicated sky crane idea would work... but it did!
Well done to everyone involved.
Now, let's find some mars bugs! Smile
The meek shall inherit the Earth, the rest of us will fly to the stars.

Never underestimate the power of very stupid people in large groups

Arguing with an engineer is like wrestling with a pig in mud ..... after a while you realise that the pig likes it!

Well, it didn't take long:

Quote:How comforting to know that $2.5 billion of our tax dollars are being wasted (sorry, “invested”) to find evidence of life of Mars. The critical clues will be traces of water. And we all know what that means. Just get yourself some carbon (and a few other things) and JUST ADD WATER, and voila, LIFE!
Silicon is the seventh most abundant element in the universe. The planet Mars apparently has a heavy dose of it. Should NASA then say that Mars has the ingredients for computer chips and laptops, with the intended implication that computer chips and laptops may have self-assembled on Mars in the past, or might in the future?
“There's almost unanimous agreement that Mars once had conditions suitable for life as we understand it, he said. If life never arose, he said, scientists will want to know why not.”

NASA wants to know why life did NOT arise on Mars? As if to say NASA knows why life DID arise on earth? Incredible!

Then, the finale. This unintentional but damning indictment of the evolutionists and origin-of-lifers and all of junk science: “Anderson said he won't be disappointed if Curiosity fails to bring us any evidence of past life. "You have to be careful that you don't confuse what you want to see with what you are seeing."

Let's hope there's intelligent life on Mars, 'cos like the man says there's bugger-all down here on Earth.

How does an American put in a light bulb? We farm the job out to China and then get pissed off when a mexican ends up doing it faster and cheaper. Undecided

How does a priest put in a lightbulb?

They don't; they prefer you didn't see what they're doing.
